This news article relates the sad tale of a father who supposedly shot and killed his own daughter while cleaning his guns.
It seems that he admits to "drinking double shots of vodka while cleaning his guns", something that destroys a great deal of sympathy I might have for him right off the bat.
But then he claims to have asked his daughter to bring him has .45 auto, and "he must have pulled the trigger" while pointing it directly at her.
The crime scene techs and the detective in charge will get to the bottom of this, but I'm thinking that is all sounds really suspicious to me.
UPDATE
Mad Rocket Scientist says that it is more likely a negligent discharge instead of a deliberate criminal act. Nothing sinister, just stupidity.
Murdoc the Gunpundit agrees with Mad, as does Texas Fred.

To be sure, this could easily be something more than it appears. I hope the investigators give it the attention it deserves and uncover anything intentional. Whatever happened, it's a tragedy.
It's just that dumb combined with drunk equals trouble 99 times out of 100.
