Poison Gas Pistol

I mentioned the 1924 Pacific Arms Company catalog in the post below, mainly because I was fascinated by all the nifty Lugers they were offering for sale. (If it isn't some sort of Internet hoax, of course.) But it looks like they also were selling a less lethal alternative to the handguns.

See it? About halfway down the page on the left hand side. A 3 shot "poison gas pistol". Seems to be tear gas instead of actual poison, though.

I don't think I would have had any money left after buying their Lugers, but whatever floats your boat.

Joe Allen:

It brings to mind two questions:

How does the policeman, sheriff, narcotic or prohibition inspector use this to put a whole room full of criminals to sleep without succumbing to the effect themselves? Are the expected to have gained entry to Bonnie & Clyde's hangout while wearing a gas mask?

And, more importantly, eyeless kittens? Eeew.
