I suppose that most gunblogs who are interested in such things have already posted about it, but I finally got a good look at the fancy race gun that "The Company" issues to their agents on the hit TV show Heroes.
It is an Infinity Firearms IMM pistol. The size of the bore made it obvious that it was chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge.
An advertisement was playing on the radio this morning. Some models of Kia automobiles are going for $8,000 USD, brand new. Would you get twice the car if you spent twice as much? Some people would certainly argue that this is so.
But let us say that you spend ten times the cost of that basic econobox. Would you get ten times the car? I doubt anyone could seriously make that claim.
That pretty much is why I don't go in for those custom handguns. The bare basics do for my needs, even though I can certainly see the appeal if someone wants to get something fancy.
Besides, all the cash that would go towards the custom 1911 could be better spent buying ammo and range time for my students. I have to keep my priorities straight.
