A Terrorist Organization Which is Not Safe For Work

For the past 30 years, a really nasty fight has been going on in the Philippines between government troops and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

Let us put this into perspective. We are talking about Moro warriors. They are the tough mofos who were such a problem way back during the Philippine-American War that the United States decided to adopt the M1911 pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge.

During the time that the US held the islands, Moro tribesmen would occasionally attack our Marines. They showed little fear of death or appreciation of any sort of sound battle tactics. Instead they would simply hoist their spears and swords and run hell-bent-for-leather at our troops. It was found that the .38 revolvers our guys were issued at the time were too weak to be a reliable Moro deterrent, hence the change to the .45.

These were serious and deadly opponents, and it doesn't appear that they have grown soft in the past century.

The problem is that most military analysts refer to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front by the initials: MILF. That is fine and dandy, except when you happen to be researching older Islamic terrorist organizations and you try to run a Google search on a certain group that has been giving the Philippine government some problems.

Take my word for it and don't try to run your own search if you are at work.

I didn't know Sugar Cat was a terrorist!

I need to call F.B. Iers!

My wee wifey was looking to buy clothing for work online. She found a web search for - nurse uniform - quite educational.

Garys:

ROFL!

Gary

I guess I need to start doing some research on my own!!

Bob:

Hmm...I do like the older women...

I know I bring it up every time the moros come up, but I try not to use the 38/45 argument from the Phillipine insurrection experience. Since 00 Buckshot, 30-40, and 45-70 were all failing to stop moros I have a hard time generalizing too about 38 Long/45 LC.
